There are many reasons to use INDUCTION lighting, and the two biggest are ENERGY SAVINGS and WHITER LIGHT:
ENERGY SAVINGS: Replacing high pressure sodium or metal halide with induction can save you approximately 50% on energy costs. A 250w high pressure sodium street light, for example, can be replaced with a 120w induction fixture (see pictures of Monterrey, Mexico below). A 150w HPS fixture can be replace by a 70w fixture. These replacements can be done while still achieving the same scotopic light levels.
WHITER LIGHT: Using induction over high pressure sodium will result in whiter, clearer light. The human eye sees colors more vividly when using whiter light, and clarity of objects is improved. Security cameras record clearer videos (induction can be used for parking lots, garages, etc.).
